The Tien Shan Pai motto is:

Tien Shan Pai is our primary Kung Fu Self Defense Program available to Men and Women. Tien Shan Pai is a northern style of Kung Fu, well known for producing excellent fighters, while also containing pretty, artistic forms. The self defense aspects of Tien Shan Pai concentrate on attacking from the side and use of multiple blocking to insure that if one block fails, the second will not. Footwork is essential and focuses on low steady steps to the side with swift and tricky "hidden" or "lost steps". Also included in the external studies is the art of Chin Na, an entire system of joint locks and other seizing and grappling techniques. Also included are the escapes from such techniques. Our self defense program incorporates all elements of Chinese Martial Arts:

  • Kicks & Punches, and ground techniques
  • Sweeps and Throws
  • Chin-Na (The art of seizing and grappling)
  • Traditional Chinese Weapons (Broadsword, Straightsword, Spear, Long Staff and Others)
  • Martial Chi Kung (Internal Energy Development and Body Strengthening)
  • Iron Palm

Our youth program is carefully designed to provide personal development while learning the techniques of self defense. Martial Arts training for children forges a focused, disciplined mind. Enhanced concentration, self-discipline, and self-confidence are just some of the benefits children get from the study of martial arts. It also assists in developing positive learning habits, including goal setting, that can be applied at home and school. Not lost in our program is the need to teach our young students that kung fu is for self defense and fun. We regularly remind students not to practice on parents, siblings, pets, or in school.

Children also benefit from physical development through kung fu training. Our program helps strengthen the body, develop balance and increase flexibility in students of all ages. All techniques are carefully taught by our experienced instructor staff to allow growing bodies to grow the way nature intended. Our program does NOT include any elements that could have an adverse affect on the physical development of children.

We teach the Yang Style Long Form as our primary Tai Chi program. The slow, rhythmic motions stretch the muscles and joints, stimulate mental focus, and promote overall health and well-being. Students practicing Tai Chi in our program can realize Health Benefits and learn the Self Defense applications. Tai Chi has been known to provide the following health benefits through regular practice:

  • Stress Reduction
  • Blood Pressure Control (Both High and Low Pressure)
  • Increased Blood Circulation
