Master Michael Huang
Master Huang has been studying martial arts since he was five. At the US Kuoshu Academy, Master Huang is in charge of the Kung Fu Program and has been involved with the school since it opened in the Owings Mills location. Master Huang has competed and received gold medals in national and international tournaments in single, two-man, empty and weapons forms competitions, along with full-contact fighting. He was recognized as the United States Kuo Shu Federation (USKSF) Male Competitor of the Year in 2001 and Lei Tai Competitor of the Year in 2010.
Since he was little, Master Huang has participated with a number of demonstration teams to help raise money for different charities and special occasions, including St. Jude Children’s Research Center, Maryland Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis, September 11th relief efforts, etc. For his efforts, Master Huang has received several government citations for his dedication and promotion to Chinese Martial Arts.
Although Master Huang started his martial arts journey in Kung Fu, he has focused his time studying Xing Yi Quan, Ba Gua Zhang, Tai Ji Quan and Daoist meditation. Through his studies of the internal arts, he has gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the breadth and depth of Chinese Martial Arts as a whole. Master Huang utilizes the internal arts to complement his external arts knowledge to provide students at US Kuoshu Academy with the deepest understanding of Chinese Martial Arts possible.
Master Huang graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Science degree from the Robert H. Smith School of Business in Accounting.
